On December 6th 2021, Patricia "Rici" Dees Birmingham(48) was murdered by her husband Carey Birmingham (60) at their home in Spring, TX (Harris County) after an argument. The disturbing video of her final moments has been viewed by tens of millions of people around the world, after he received only 10 years in prison (eligible for parole in 5) in March of 2024 due to Texas' "sudden passion" laws. Rici is remembered by those who knew her as strong and full of zest for life, as well as a successful businesswoman and caring friend, sister, daughter, and aunt.
Her story and the miscarriage of justice that followed, has led her sister Mary to start this journey of advocacy. Changing unjust laws and helping others escape their abusive situations before the unthinkable happens will ensure that her legacy is one of strength and positive change for the world.

A similar case I heard of and the guy was found not guilty in a domestic violence murder. I forgot who thought of a great idea to charge the guy with violating the victim's civil rights. That's how the guy was finally convinced and sentenced to life without a possibility for parole. Some how can someone please bring this to the prosecutor's office in hopes that this demon doesn't see the light of day
